Persuasion 2

Persuasion is the force exerted to influence behavior that includes a reflected change in attitude. Everyday we are bombarded with messages from people who wish to influence our behavior and attitudes. Persuasion can be used to accomplish good as well as bad, though, in my paper I will refrain from making value judgements and only report the factual aspects.

I believe that marijuana should not be legalized. There are many reason on to why it shouldn’t be legalized but on of the more important reasons are that the chemicals in marijuana such as cannabinoids and THC have an effect on the memory and emotions of a person’s central nervous system. It effects the central nervous system by attaching to the brains neurons which then causes an interference between the brain and the nervous system.

Women In Combat

Women In Combat “From Kelly Flinn to G.I. Jane, controversy has raged in recent months over whether women are fit for military service” (Brown 326). In the articles “Women Unfit for Combat? Au Contraire!” and “Women are not a Warrior Class,” both authors convey their thoughts on women in combat. Both authors give many reasons why or why not women should be allowed to fight in combat.

The effect of under population in the world is causing lack of people to replace those who die or retire with inability to continue working. Just done in the U.S. Census 83 countries and territories are now thought to experience below-replacement fertility.

Is Torture Ok?

There is an ongoing debate on whether torture should be used and if it is ever “ok”. There are many different points of view and both sides have very clear, convincing arguments on whether torture should be used as a way to obtain information.   One side says that torture is not necessary even in extreme cases. The other side it should be used if it mandatory. Although these sound like a compromise they do have a few conflicting ideas.

Rhetorical Analysis: Watson And Rifkin

Jeremy Rifkin, an American economist, writer and public speaker, is founder and president of the Foundation on Economic Trends (FOET).   In his article, “A Change of Heart about Animals,” published in the Los Angeles Times (2003), suggests that animals are more like humans in the sense that they are capable of feeling emotions as well as comprehending concepts much like we’ve never expected.
